Data Sources Accessed and Linked to Vital Records Birth

States report on the capacity of the Title V program to consistently access health data sources to support planning, monitoring, and evaluation. States track access to data from Vital Records (birth and death), Medicaid, Newborn Screening (bloodspot and hearing), Hospital Discharge, Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS) or a similar state PRAMS-like System, and Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).

The map below displays the total number of data sources in a state that have consistent annual access and electronic access, and are linked to Vital Records Birth. The bar graph displays the number of states that have consistent annual access and electronic access, as well as the number of states that link these data to Vital Records Birth. Both the map and the bar graph display the number of data sources by a range.
